JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Communications Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Corporate Information and Compliance
REPORTS TO: Chief Information and Compliance Officer
DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: Communications Assistant
External Communications Agency or Handler
JOB SUMMARY
Assists in the development, implementation and control of all the communications or publicity activities of the company in all media, i.e. print, free and pay television, cable and other forms of broadcast communications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Acts as the initial point of contact of the external communications agency or handler;
2. Helps develop the communications program of the Company, with the support of the external communications agency or handler;
3. Coordinates with the external communications agency or handler on the implementation of the Company communications program;
4. Presents for approval the editorial output of the external communications agency prior to publication;
5. Summarizes the media monitoring activities of the external communications agency;
6. Prepares and controls the budget for all the communications programs and activities of the Company;
7. Prepares requests for payment for the contracted external communications services;
8. Monitors, evaluates and reports the performance of the external communications agency; and
9. Performs other duties, related to his general functions, as may be requested by his superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATION GUIDE
Education: Graduate of Mass Communications or Marketing Graduate
Experience: One to two years in a related field
Knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, Adobe Acrobat/PDF Generator
Skills: Good proficiency in English language; extroverted
Personal Attributes: Person oriented, approachable, diligent, self starter and adaptable to people and situations
